SecretBuilders, a casual game for children with an emphasis on creativity and historical adventure, announced today its acquisition of the userbase of children’s game world, Dizzywood. The deal adds Dizzywood’s over 1.9 million users, including all its active and premium users, to SecretBuilders Community of 2 million users worldwide.

“We are overjoyed to welcome all ‘Dizzies’ to our community,” said Bob Brattesani, award-winning toy-maker and now Chief Creative at SecretBuilders. “We have worked hard to create some amazing virtual items celebrating Dizzywood, planned special events and parties, and launched a new Dizzywood land to welcome the new arrivals.”

“It has been a wonderful journey for all of us at Dizzywood over the past three years and I am proud of what we have come to mean to millions of children the world over,” said Scott Arpajian, CEO of Dizzywood. “I look forward to working with the SecretBuilders team to help create an engaging experience for all Dizzies and their new friends as they continue their adventures online.”

Mr. Arpajian, who co-founded Dizzywood in 2007 with funding from Charles River Ventures, European Founders Fund and Shelby Bonnie, co-founder CNET, will be joining the SecretBuilders Advisory Board.

The Dizzywood userbase acquisition comes on the heels of strong growth for SecretBuilders with a doubling of new monthly registrations and monthly page views, and a tripling of daily return users and peak concurrent users, in the past four months.

“The Dizzywood user acquisition caps a prolific 2010 for us with high engagement by children and endorsement by parents,” said Umair Khan, CEO of SecretBuilders. “We are thrilled at our growth and eager to extend our reach in 2010 beyond PCs to smart-phones and tablets.”

The company plans to launch game versions and companion apps on various mobile platforms in the coming months. Last week a version of SecretBuilders became available on the Android-based Samsung Galaxy Tab tablet.

“SecretBuilders will always provide a “Cheerio” alternative to the chocolate fudge offerings that dominate children’s content online,” said Mr. Khan. “We see a huge need for premium children’s content on hundreds of millions of “electronic babysitting” devices over the next five years: we want to be the number one provider, across all screens, of children’s content that is both engaging and enriching.”
